Potential separation of seat from base in a collision. Transport Canada
highly recommends that users of the seat follow the manufacturer’s “without
base” method of installing the infant seat in the vehicle using the vehicle seat
belt, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Particular attention should be
paid to the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the levelling of the infant seat in
the vehicle, and the recommended useful life of the product.

The retaining strap (also referred to as the “pigtail” strap) that attaches the UAS
belt to the detachable base may be too short and can cause difficulty when
installing the infant car seat using the base and the UAS belt in certain vehicles.
Specifically, the shorter “pigtail” strap may prevent the UAS hook from reaching
the vehicle anchorage.
Anyone experiencing difficulty installing the base using the UAS belt should
contact Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations by phone at 1-800-544-1108
or by fax at 1-800-207-8182. A replacement UAS belt with a longer “pigtail”
strap will be sent free of charge. While waiting for the replacement UAS belt, the
base may be installed in the vehicle using the vehicle seat belt instead of the
UAS belt.

The centre front adjuster mechanism on the restraint may not allow the
adjustment webbing to lock in place which can result in potential loosening of
the harness strap. The locking clamp of the adjuster may not rotate freely and
the adjuster strap may pull through the adjuster in the lock direction. If the
