NIOSH APPROVAL CAUTIONS AND LIMITIONS

A - Not for use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5 percent oxygen.

B - Not for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health.

C - Do not exceed maximum use concentrations established by regulartory

standards.

H - Follow established cartridge and canister change schedules or observe ESLI to

ensure that cartridges and canisters are replaced before breakthrough occurs.

J - Failure to properly use and maintain this product could result in injury or

death.

L - Follow the User’s Instructions for changing cartridges, canisters and/or lters.

M - All approved respirators shall be selected, tted, used, and maintained in

accordance with MSHA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.

N - Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Use only exact replacement parts

in the conguration as specied by the manufacturer.

O - Refer to Users Instructions, and/or maintenance manuals for information on

use and maintenance of these respirators.

P - NIOSH does not evaluate respirators for use as surgical masks.

S - Special or critical User’s Instructions and/or specic use limitations apply. Refer

to User’s Instructions before donning.

I. INTRODUCTION

This manual provides instructions for the use and maintenance of the Sperian

Respiratory Protection’s SURVIVAIR

Opti-Fit

™

full facepiece air purifying respira-

tor. This manual is applicable to Opti-Fit Models 7520, 7620, 7720, 7521, 7621,

7721, which have threaded cartridge/lter connectors, and Models 7570, 7670,

and 7770, which have bayonet cartridge/lter connectors. You must read and

understand this manual and be trained in the proper use of the respirator

before wearing it in a contaminated atmosphere.
